Women Of Leeds: Gertrude Paul The Inspirational Head Teacher
In 1987, Leeds Civic Trust set up the Historic Plaques Scheme to celebrate people, events and buildings in Leeds. This is the blue plaque story of Gertrude Paul, the city’s first black headteacher and the co-founder of Leeds Carnival.
